Fermilab Director Search

In October 2012, the Board of Directors of the Fermi Research Alliance, LLC appointed an 16-member committee to conduct an international search for the next director of Fermilab. Current Director Pier Oddone announced on August 2, 2012 that he will retire on July 1, 2013 after eight years at the helm of America’s premier particle physics laboratory.

The Fermilab Director Search Committee, led by former Lockheed Martin chairman and CEO Norman Augustine, is conducting a broad international search that seeks input from Fermilab employees and the particle physics community. This website provides the latest information about the status of the search process and a mechanism for Fermilab staff and the science community to submit comments and nominations to the committee.
