Fermi National Laboratory

Fermilab Habitat Restoration Volunteers

Join us as we work to revive natural areas at Fermilab by clearing away non-native brush to encourage native woodland flowers and trees to grow. The diversity of plants will continue to expand with your help.

You can be a part of Fermilab Prairie Restoration by helping out the Habitat Restoration group. Projects include removing non-native plants and brush in many areas of the site, including the path between Wilson Hall and the Lederman Science Center; seed collection, processing and spreading in the prairie; planting natives near ponds or other sites; etc.

For the next few months we will be thinning out the understory in the Big Woods and the woods between in and out-bound Pine Street.
