Quick minutes summary:
We had a very interesting discussion of the issues associated with
1-d versus 2d readout in a fine-grained calorimeter for the NUMI Off-axis
beam, led by Carl Bromberg. Although we've been hearing quite a bit about
scintillator options and also RPC's, there is also the possibility of
using iarocci tubes for the readout as well.

readout, by Carl Bromberg:

Furthermore, Kirk McDonald showed an addition to the document which
concerns the possibility of putting a liquid argon near detector in the
numi beamline to do early measurements on cross sections, while getting
experience with this detector technology on the short time scale.
