Minutes of the MUCOOL meeting 1:30PM CDT Friday, 29 January. 1. RF Update -Al Moretti discussed progress on setting up Lab G for experiment use. Low-level radiation contamination in the area is slowing up old equipment removal. Equipment should be removed and are cleaned out for occupancy by mid-March. Al also showed sketches of an open cell (no be Windows) 805 MHz cavity design - accelerating gradient of 30 GV/m requires peak surface fields of 90 MV/m. 2. Muon Cooling theory meeting summary- P. Spentzouris reported on Balbekov's new 805 MHz rf- Li lens cooling scenario; comparisons with DPGeant will be reported next Monday. 3. Fast Timing Plans -Alan Bross reported plans for developing high precision Cerenkov-based time of flight measurements, to replace bent-solenoid + cavity momentum and phase measurements in MUCOOL 4. High Surface Field Li Lens R&D G. Silvestrov presented some thoughts toward handling higher field, longer Li lens; a key problem is the pressure shock induced by the current; ideas toward including an extended buffer volume and larger Be windows/plugs were discussed. 5. Bunched Muons at the Booster - Jim Norem presented a first conceptual look at a quadrupole capture transport after a booster target N. Holtkamp presented a low-field solenoid optics concept
