This is an outline of a proposed approach to the Survey of Future Experiments. We need a person to work with each experiment. We can call for volunteers for "experiment contacts" this week. 'T0' is defined when we have half of the contacts since we can then get started. I think that we should have people from ATLAS or CMS who are not members of CDF and D0 serve as contacts for CDF and D0. Phase I: First contact A. Assemble page of useful web links, get list of offline leaders and computing center contacts where applicable for 1) BaBar 2) BELLE 3) COMPASS 4) STAR 5) CDF 6) D0 complete (T0+1 weeks) B. Contact leaders and identify key documents and plans complete (T0+2 weeks) C. Summarize key documents and Plans -- report at Architecture working group meetings complete (T0+4 weeks) PhaseII: Meetings with key representatives Possibly have presentations from some or all of experiments start at T0+3 weeks complete at T0+6 weeks (may depend on how many presentations are decided upon) Phase III. Draft document, which should contain A. Tables of resources required for the analysis B. Architectural drawings (schematics) and written descriptions of analysis systems C. Major issues, Noteworthy practices, etc D. Discussion and conclusions start at T0+5 weeks complete first draft at T0+8 weeks (or two weeks after presentations end) If we start in the third week of May, we should have a draft by the the end of July. This is, in my view, a very ambitious schedule.
