A Future Kaon Physics Program at Fermilab
These 3 proposals are being discussed by the Fermilab PAC at the Aspen meeting - now.
- No approvals will be given - yet.
- Decision on the viability of a Main Injector Fixed Target Program
Main Injector is up and running
- 120 GeV proton beam to the meson lab is planned.
- No conflict with collider operation - both can run at the same time.
No significant support has yet been forthcoming to fund and man the approved R&D proposals.
No construction funds are available until after NUMI is built in 2002-3.
So will there be a program? - &^%*ed if I know!
- This is a world beating program if we do it.
- So far we have encouragement but no commitment from Fermilab
