Bars

There are many small area bars around; you should explore the ones near you and find what you like. But as a starter, here's a short list of ones near Fermilab.

• Hotshots (630) 393-1241. This sports bar is located in the Shell plaza on Route 59 and Batavia Rd. It has pool (free on Mon), darts, occasionally live bands and karaoke.
• Avalanche II (630) 393-3141. The Avalanche is a bar visible on the left as you travel south on 59 from Batavia road. It has pool, darts, and live music now and again. A nice neighborhood bar.
• Synergy (630) 231-6000. 243 West Roosevelt Rd, West Chicago. This club, located on Rt. 38 west of Rt. 59, comes attached to Bowling Green bowling alley, described later in this chapter. They have decent live music there.
• Rock Bottom (630) 836-1380. Nice food and good beer but the place is noisy. It is located at the AMC 30 plaza.
• Frankie's Blue Room (630) 416-4898. 16 W. Chicago Ave, Naperville. Nightspot featuring live music.
• Walter Paytons Roundhouse (630) 892-0034. 205 N Broadway, Aurora. Oldest existing limestone roundhouse in the nation! Has a brewpub restaurant, frequent live music, comedy club, special events, etc. Moderately priced.
