You should check with your university or home institution regarding your coverage while living in Illinois. There are frequently restrictions, which apply when receiving medical care outside of the state or local area of your insurance provider.

If you do not have medical insurance or wish to change policies, you can apply for medical coverage at the Users Office, X3111, first floor Wilson Hall. The cost of this insurance varies, but the current cost of good medical insurance is $139 per month for an individual or $485 per month for a family. Less complete medical coverage can be obtained for less money.

You must have insurance to get a Fermilab ID. And you need to renew it every year.
