Hello all,

This is to announce the visit of Judy Franz, the APS Executive Director at Fermilab, next Wednsday October 7th. ***Note**** Judy Franz wants to meet and discuss with grad students. She has already helped Sam Zeller and the GSA reps last year to get endorsement from APS for the graduate student conference.

As a preliminary agenda for what concerns the grad students , here is what the public affairs together with the GSA put together:

****_preliminary_ interacting-with-the-students- agenda
of APS Executive visiting Fermilab on Wednesday Oct.7th****

10:00 to 11:00 am CDF (with Maria, CDFers and D0ers)
11:00 to 12:00 noon Judy will visit DO (with Andrew Green and D0ers and CDFers)

she expressed her interest to see the detectors and meet with the students at the experiments' site. **So** if you are working in your trailer take a 20 mins break to the ** D0 and B0 experimental Hall and meet with Judy.**

In the afternoon on the south hall of the 15th floor at the highrise a casual poster hour and discussion with an address to the students and a question answer forum will follow:

1:40 to 2:00 pm she will address the students
2:00 to 3:45 pm we'll walk her through the posters (however many we manage to retrieve, however many stands we manage to get)
3:45 3:00 pm open forum questions and answers.
There will be something to munch, too...

The GSA together with the public affairs will come very soon to a decision on the exact agenda and the flow of the events in the "poster hour" and this message will be updated thereafter.

This is a great opportunity for all graduate students to meet with someone who can influence decisions involving students' futute carrer as a phycisist, in academia or not, someone who is is willing to listen to your ideas and vision and answer your questions.

If you can volunteer a poster that would be great, but please make sure that you come and meet with Judy Franz on October 7th.

Look also in the gsa web page http://www.fnal.gov/orgs/gsa/ for information on the visit and on Judy Franz and her work with APS. when the final agenda is known it will be posted here and you will receive another message.

It is up to you to help make this a sucessful interaction with APS.

Thanks,

your GSA reps.
