Title:
"Physics Potential of the NOvA Experiment"
Abstract:
So far in the study of
neutrino oscillations there has been no direct evidence of \nu_\mu ->
\nu_e oscillations, characterized by the mixing angle \theta_{13}. The
primary goal of the proposed NuMI Off-Axis \nu_e Appearance (NOvA)
experiment is to extend the search for \nu_\mu -> \nu_e oscillations by
approximately an order of magnitude beyond the current upper limit.
Secondary goals of the NOvA experiment are to make use of matter
effects
and make use of both neutrino and anti-neutrino beam mode to study the
mass ordering of the three neutrino flavors and search for CP violation
in the neutrino sector. In this poster, we outline the prospects for
various physics topics in the NOvA experiment.
