New Perspectives 2005
June 9-11

From Thursday through Saturday June 9-11, 2005, the Annual New Perspectives Conference will take place at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, IL. This conference is aimed at young physicists in High Energy or Nuclear physics, of undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral levels.

Thursday evening starts the conference off with a poster session along with a wine and cheese reception, from 5:30 - 7 pm. Posters may be submitted by any young physicists. Large cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 posters, in memory of George Michail. After the poster session, there will be a meeting of the YPP (Young Particle Physicists) which all are invited to attend.

Presentation sessions will be on Friday, and may be given by any young physicists. The conference includes presentations by renowned physicists Dr. Harrison Prosper, FSU, Dr. Steven Kahn, Stanford U, and Dr. Pier Oddone, the incoming director of Fermilab. There will also be a Barbeque at the Kuhn Barn Friday evening, beginning at 6pm.

Tours of Fermilab experiments or the Chicago area may also be offered on Saturday, depending on time and interest.

New Perspectives is organized by Fermilab's Graduate Student Association and Young Particle Physicists chapter.
