Callers Workshop

This workshop is open to any experienced dancer with or without calling experience. Calling is a fun adventure (can be scary too). We'll explore the magic of connecting dancers with the music -- how to get things going, build the evening, teach and prompt the dances, and communicate with the band. We'll also talk about how to develop a repertoire of dances that work for you. If you have any written or recorded dance you'd like to work on, please bring, or ask me in advance if you have requests.

It's good to practice in a supportive atmosphere, and anyone who's so inclined can call a dance or two the following day at Warrenville.

From the east:
Take 59 to Batavia Road in Warrenville and turn west onto Batavia Rd. Go past the guardhouse (stopping for a pass, if needed) and turn right at the first stop sign. The barn is the second building on the right.

From the west:
Take Kirk Rd. to Pine St. in Batavia. Turn east onto Pine St. Go past the guardhouse (stopping for a pass, if needed). Pass the 15 story high rise building and continue on past another stop sign and a blinking red light to the stop sign at Sauk Blvd/Circle in the Fermilab Village. Turn left and the barn is second on the right.
