Fermilab Users' Outreach Workshop
June 5, 2007
The Fermilab Users’ Organization will host an Outreach Workshop on
June 5, 2007, the day before the annual users meeting. The workshop will be
an opportunity to exchange ideas on effective and practical ways to
communicate the exciting ideas of physics and what we do as scientists to
students, the general public and government officials.
The workshop will consist of 3 panels, each focusing on a different aspect
of outreach and a hands on session, with displays, posters
and demonstrations from various outreach programs.
Panels (9:00-3:30, 1 West)
Hands on Session (3:30-5:00
2nd floor cross over)
- The Physics Van
- Sample kits for school visits from Fermilab Education Office
- Demonstrations from the Lederman Center
- Quarknet display
- Girl's Science Salon
- UIUC Saturday Morning Physics
- QUARKED!
- Nebraska Cosmic Ray Observatory Project
