Ron Moore Statement: With the SLAC B-factory and CESR shutting down, Fermilab now stands alone as the sole US laboratory focused on accelerator-based experimental high-energy physics. However, that fact does not guarantee Fermilab's future well-being. The successes of the ongoing Tevatron, neutrino and astrophysics programs are vital to help garner support for the prospects endorsed by P5. In addition, our user community must continue improving our promotion of the relevance of Fermilab, HEP and science in general to the public and our government representatives. The UEC is instrumental in that task. As both a Fermilab scientist and a user, I have a profound interest in Fermilab's future. My experience in running the Tevatron and working on CDF have given me a breadth of knowledge that I have found to be very beneficial. I hope to use that experience on the UEC to serve our user community and help make it stronger as the Fermilab physics program evolves over the next few years.
