Ron Moore Education: B.S. Physics and B.S. Mathematics, Penn State University, 1992 M.S. Physics, University of Michigan, 1995 Ph.D. Physics, University of Michigan, 1997 Positions held: Research Fellow, University of Michigan, 1997 - 2001 Associate Scientist, Fermilab, 2001 - 2006 Scientist I, Fermilab, 2006 - present Research/Service: As an undergraduate, I worked on pattern recognition and trigger simulations for a scintillating fiber tracker for the SDC detector at SSC. My Ph.D. thesis work was a measurement of the charged-current structure in tau decays using Z->tau+ tau- with the L3 detector at LEP. I also helped test and support the timing calibration electronics for the L3 endcap muon chambers. As a CDF post-doc, I led the production of the Run II TDC boards, designed electronics for the Level-1 muon trigger and wrote test and configuration software for those boards. In June 2001, I joined the Fermilab Accelerator Division where I have been the Tevatron Department Head since October 2005. I also served stints as Deputy Department Head, Deputy Run Coordinator and Run Coordinator. In addition to running the Tevatron, I remain an active member of the CDF Collaboration and am currently working on measurements of the B_c meson mass and lifetime.
