Thomas Handler Education: * Ph.D. Rutgers University, 1975 * B.S. Carnegie Mellon University, 1968 Positions: * Research Associate, University of Tennessee, 1974-1977 * Visiting Assistant Professor, University of Tennessee, 1977-1979 * Assistant Professor, University of Tennessee, 1979-1984 * Associate Professor, University of Tennessee, 1984-1992 * Professor, University of Tennessee 1992- Research Activities: I have participated in particle physics experiments since 1967-1968. The experiments have been done with bubble chambers, BNL 80" and 31", FNAL Hybrid 30" system, Argonne 12', the SLAC 40" Hybrid system, and the CERN Rapid Cycling Bubble chamber. I was also part of the SDC Collaboration at the SSC. I also participated in the photoproduction experiments E687 and E831 at FNAL. I was also part of the BTeV experiment at FNAL. Recently I have become associated with the US CMS contingent and have joined the NOvA experiment at FNAL. My work has been concentrated in two main areas: 1) The production of mesonic states, what states are there and their production dynamics by various types of mechanisms, and 2) Simulation efforts from SDC to BTeV. The simulations expertise has been extended to work on background simulations for NASA satellites.
