Dan Hooper Education: Saint Cloud State University, BS, 1999 University of Wisconsin, Madison, Ph.D., 2003 Positions Held: Postdoctoral Fellow (Leverhulme Fellow), Oxford University, 2003-2005 David Schramm Fellow, Fermilab, 2005-2007 Associate Scientist, Fermilab, 2007-Present Research Activities: As a member of the theoretical astrophysics group in Fermilab's Particle Astrophysics Center, I have worked on a wide range of topics in particle physics and astrophysics. I am primarily interested in physics beyond the Standard Model, especially at the TeV scale. My research focuses on the interface between particle physics and cosmology and has covered many related topics including dark matter, supersymmetry, neutrinos, extra dimensions and cosmic rays. In addition to interacting with other members of the theoretical astrophysics group, I have worked closely with several members of Fermilab's theory group and talk frequently with physicists working on CDMS, the Pierre Auger Observatory, CDF, Dzero, MiniBooNE and other Fermilab experiments. I have also been involved with outreach activities at Fermilab, including several meetings with school groups and working with Saturday Morning Physics (beginning in the fall). I am also scheduled to give a public talk for the Fermilab Lecture Series this November.
