Robert Harr Statement Tevatron operations are entering the home stretch. It is important to maintain the present momentum, and complete the exciting physics program of Run II while LHC operation begins and the lab shifts its focus. At the same time, decisions being made in Washington, D.C. will shape the future of Fermilab, and of particle physics research in the U.S. The neutrino experiments, astrophysics program, and Fermilab's role as a center for U.S. LHC groups will carry the lab for a while, but its existence is and will continue to be based on the accelerator program. The ILC may be the long-term program, but a medium-term program is needed, and the work of Young Kee Kim's Steering Group is helping to look at the possibilities. It is vital that we both promote the present physics program and communicate the importance and excitement of the field to members of Congress, the Office of Science, and officials in the administration. The UEC contributes to both through the annual User's Meeting and the Washington trip. I have made several trips to Washington, and will bring that experience to the UEC.
