Thomas Phillips Education: - BS Stanford University, 1980 - MSEE Stanford University, 1980 - MA Harvard University, 1982 - PhD Harvard University, 1986 Positions held: - Laboratory Assistant, Fermilab, (1977, summer) - Research Assistant, SLAC Group C (1976-1980) - Graduate Student, Harvard University (1980-1986) - Research Associate, Harvard University (1986-1990) - Assistant Research Professor, Duke University (1990-1998) - Associate Research Professor, Duke University (1998-present) Research Activities: My thesis research was on the HPW proton decay experiment, a small (by today's standards) water-Cerenkov detector. Since that time I have worked primarily on CDF. I lived in Batavia from 1986 until 1994, and I have been commuting from North Carolina since then. On CDF, I have worked on gas calorimeters, the vertex TPC, and the Central Outer Tracker. My research activities have included the W mass, W plus jets, and exotic physics including the CHAMPs search which is my current focus.
