Timothy McKay Statement: ---------------- Fermilab remains the leading laboratory for high energy physics research in the United States. As such, it acts as the scientific focal point for a large community of University based "users". I have seen the lab from the inside (as a Lederman Fellow from 1992-1995) and out (as a Michigan faculty member since 1995). I have come to view this rich community of users as the lab's greatest strength. As a member of the UEC I would work to help the lab to be responsive to the needs of this user community. Particular challenges in the coming years include the successful completion of Run-II, including thorough analysis of the data, support for the gradual shift of focus to the LHC, and planning for new directions. These include traditional activities like neutrino physics and the ILC as well as new directions, such as dark matter and dark energy experiments.
