Fermilab receives $29.5 million in supplemental funding

At an all-hands meeting on July 2, Fermilab Director Pier Oddone announced to all employees the official suspension of involuntary layoffs at Fermilab. U.S. Senator Richard Durbin, Congresswoman Judy Biggert and Congressman Bill Foster, who led the bipartisan effort of the Illinois delegation to provide supplemental funding for science, spoke at the event. Acting Deputy Secretary of Energy Jeffrey Kupfer announced that Fermilab will receive about $29.5 million in supplemental funds.
