Cabbage White (Pieris rapae),
underside
Fermilab, Kane County, Illinois August 28, 2002 The Cabbage White is the "dandelion" of butterflies in several ways. It is one of the few non-native butterflies in the midwest, a European import. It is out early in the season, stays out all season well into the fall, and seems to be found in all habitats. |
