Nov. 27, 2002: There are a couple of proposed enhancements to the ErrorLogger package, concerning a special form suitable for messages of a debugging nature, and concerning supplying GMT time along with timestamps.

Much faster inversion for generic matrices that happen to be 3x3 thru 6x6.
SpecialFunctions
Improved documentatoin and build tools to facilitate using the separate gsl kit.
And minor tweaks in other packages, mostly to correct problems in building tbins for specific combinations of platforms, compilers and options.

Transparent output file switching on user request.

Avoidance of global block/shared library headaches.

• Elimination of all calls to abort() and exit(), in favor of using the Exceptions package.
• Compilation for gcc 3 - elimination of warnings and avoidance of very long compilation times.
HepTuple
Support for updating an open file so that monitoring processes can see the updates.
ZMtools
Separated out ZMtimer and ValuePtr.
SpecialFunctions
Allowing quicker builds when gsl kit is used to avoid some compilations.

A new gsl kit has been prepared and is used for quicker builds.

Apr. 17, 2002: Split of ZMtools into several smaller packages

The ZMtimer, IteratorFilter, and fillRandom tools in ZMtools will become separate packages.
The idea behind ZMtools was a collection of small, inoccuous, useful tools such that dependency on this package would not produce headaches even for applications that don't need every tool.

This ideal had slipped, and we are restoring it by removing the three indicated tools into their own packages.

This will be done in a release around the start of May.

Builds using ZMtimer, IteratorFIlter or fillRandom may need to modify their dependency information or library specifications.
