C++ working group home page

Whats New

A report to the RunII committee has been prepared on the current state of C++ development tools at Fermilab.

The Fermilab C++ Working Group has been resurrected, and has a new charge.

We are currently meeting the second Wednesday of each month at 2:00PM in WH3NE, (and occaisonal fourth Wednesdays).

The pages here are in the process of being brought up to date, so pardon our dust.

Several new resources are being provided by the working group.

A brief description of using the KAI-aware gdb with the ddd debugger.
A mailing list cplusplus-support@fnal.gov has been formed for the Fermilab community to get answers to C++ related questions. The questions and responses are archived in either the old cplusplus-support Hypermail archive (pre 2000-01-01) or the new cxx-users hypermail archive [Note that KAI compiler specific questions should go to kai-support@fnal.gov, which is also archived for on-site users. ]
CDF also has a HyperNews forum for C++.
ANSI C++ conformance testing results showing features supported and defect macros required for various compilers.

The Fermilab Physics Class Library Task Force (FPCLTF, pronounced zoom) is doing work based on the recommendation of this working group.

This working group is under the auspices of the Fermilab Run 2 Computing Strategy Committee.
