The nu/TPU license file is created once during the installation process and
then modified only as necessary. The license.lok file resides in the same directory as the nu/TPU executable files. The
license file cannot be directly edited and only needs to be recreated if it gets
damaged in some way. You’ll be able to tell if it gets damaged because nu/TPU won’t
start without it. The license is verified during start-up and at various times
during the session.
Should nu/TPU fail to start due to a license file error, you can recreate the
license file by going to the machine specific directory where the makeseri
utility is located and entering either of the following at the operating system
prompt:
makeseri -reset
makeseri xxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxx
In the latter example, the ‘x’s must be replaced with your nu/TPU license
number. The result of the makeseri program is the generation of a new license file
which allows you to reenter the nu/TPU system.
Note: Executing the makeseri program while nu/TPU sessions are still active
will cause long delays for the current users during subsequent WRITE and EXIT
processes. No data will be lost from the license.lok file modification.
