Components

nu/TPU looks for several files when you start your work session. Not all of these files are necessary, although nu/TPU is so dependent on some of the files that it won’t operate at all if specific files are missing. This section reviews the usage of the different files in the nu/TPU system. The default installation directory for the nu/TPU files is C:\ (DOS) and /usr/local (UNIX). nu/TPU allows any directory to be specified during the installation process. Below is a chart of the various file types, their locations, and filenames.

File location and names are user-definable. Note: Locations are indicated with the UNIX-style forward slash. nu/TPU DOS distribution has the same directory tree but with the backward slash. For defaults, menu resource, and X resource files, the user’s directory is always searched first for a file match. If no match is found, the nu/TPU default file location is used.
