Common Totalview Support Problems 1. User gets an error indicating no licenses are available for a machine containing a certain number of processors. Verify that the number of processors specified, which is the number of processors on the machine being used, is no more than existing licenses. In the event that more processors are added to a system, the licenses will have to be adjusted. The workaround solution is that the user should debug on a machine with fewer processors. 2. User gets error indicating no licenses to check out. Solution: open ticket to OSS Department to work with them to determine whether there are orphan licenses. 3. User has question/problem with totalview functionality. Solution: direct user to send email to tv-support@etnus.com. 4. User has complaint regarding totalview functionality. Usually this is framed within the context of a previously used, favored debugger with the expressed hope that totalview could be made more like said debugger. Solution: direct user to send email to tv-support@etnus.com. 5. Kai announces new version of their compiler. Solution: send email to 6. tv-support@etnus.com asking whether they intend to support the new version, as Kuck & Associates tends to forget to tell its third-party vendors that an upgrade is coming.
