External Packages

Up until now, we referred to a release that is self-contained, ie, all the software needed to build the software lives in a SRT structure. In practice, that is rarely true and software packaged in alternate ways needs to be accessed. These are called external packages. In most Fermi applications, these packages are accessed via UPS  C.
