Jukebox locations are used in numerous commands to specify the source
and destination of various tape movement operations.
Locations can be specified in several ways:
- A slot number, as in slot 7, -s 7 or /SLOT=7
This refers to the numbered slot in the jukebox, numbered from 0.
- A drive number, as in drive 7, -s 7 or /SLOT=7
This refers to the numbered drive in the jukebox, numbered from 0.
- A drive name, as in drive /dev/rmt/tps0d6nrnsv or /DRIVE=MUA0:
This refers to a named drive, as named in the client configuration file.
- A tape name, as in mytape
This refers to the location currently holding the tape named mytape
- By default -- i.e. not specifying a location.
The drive, port, or slot location required for the command will default
to your default drive or slot, except where specified differently in the
descriptions of the various commands.
