Stuart Henderson
Associate Laboratory Director for Accelerators
As the Associate Laboratory Director for Accelerators, I am responsible for managing all Fermilab accelerator operations, accelerator R&D, accelerator technology development, and construction support for accelerator facilities. I am responsible for ensuring that the Accelerator Organization is well aligned with the ongoing scientific mission of the laboratory, and is effectively organized and managed in support of this mission. I serve as the primary point of contact between Fermilab and outside agencies and institutions on matters relating to the accelerator program at Fermilab. As part of the senior management team, I contribute to the management of all aspects of the laboratory, including the overall strategic plan under the direction of the Deputy Laboratory Director.
Prior to joining Fermilab I was Director of the Research Accelerator Division at the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. I spent 10 years working at Cornell University, mostly on the CESR e+e- collider. I received a Ph.D. in Physics from Yale University.
