Project X is a multi-megawatt proton accelerator that is at the core of Fermilab's strategy of developing a world-leading Intensity Frontier program while laying the groundwork for eventual construction of a Neutrino Factory or Muon Collider. Project X will be unique in the world in its ability to deliver high power proton beams with flexible beam formats to multiple users. As Project X Project Manager I hold responsibility for organizing and leading the effort to develop a complete design, ultimately appropriate for construction, of Project X.
In this role I work with the Directorate to define program goals and integrate the effort within the overall laboratory strategy. I coordinate activities across the Divisions, Sections, and Centers to realize these goals. I also coordinate the efforts of national and international partner institutions engaged in the development effort.
I have been a member of the Fermilab staff since 1983. During my career I have worked on every accelerator within the Fermilab complex and have held a variety of prior management positions including Accelerator Division Head, Main Injector Project Manager, and Associate Laboratory Director for Accelerators. I hold a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics from Harvard University.
