“Anything that does not fit neatly onto someone else's desk (in the Director's Office) ends up on mine!”
My role is to help the other members of the Director’s Office wherever needed. This includes many aspects of Fermilab’s activities involving non-US countries and scientists, and as Secretary of the Fermilab Committee for Scientific Appointments (FCSA) I am the contact person for scientific appointments. In addition, I am the Secretary of the International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA) and its subcommittees.
Among activities before and since joining Fermilab in 1973 are: Fermilab experimental area design (1968); head of Proton Department; member of Main Ring Accelerator Group; and Assistant Director since 1981. Physics research has included leadership in several hadron elastic scattering and total cross section experiments.
