"Sustained progress in high energy physics is reliant on accelerators operating at the highest energies attainable with current technology -- the "energy frontier". The historic advances in our understanding of the underlying structure of matter over the past century have been driven by the relentless extension of the energy frontier, as fueled by advances in accelerator technologies.

My responsibility is to provide Directorate oversight for the two Fermilab Divisions supporting accelerator operations and associated technology development. The Beams and Technical Divisions provide support for the current accelerator based research program, and are at the forefront of planning and R&D for the new facilities that will be required to provide the research tools of the future."
