Tevatron Status –
Paul Czarapata Paul Czarapata reported
that all physical mitigation to make the Tevatron Tunnel ODH 0 classification
has been accomplished. The safety
paperwork had been submitted from Jerry Makara to
Bill Cooper, chairman of the Tevatron Cryogenics safety panel. On March 5, Arkadiy
Klebaner, Head of the Fermilab Cryogenics Safety
Panel, forwarded a draft e-mail from Roger Dixon, Head of Accelerator
Division, that the safety documentation had been approved and that the
affected areas of the Tevatron, Switchyard, and Pbar were in the process of
having their ODH 1 or ODH 2 postings removed.
It is noted that some specific areas in the Accelerator Division will
remain ODH areas. |

DZero
Discussion It is noted that
the use of the D0 Assembly Pit for the 35 ton Liquid Argon TPC prototype for
LBNE may cause that area, and possibly the D0 Collision Hall, to become an ODH
area, which would preclude access by the general public. For example, the lower level of the LArTF building will become ODH Class 1 when LAr is introduced to the system. Safety analysis and approval of the design,
failure modes, and mitigation before determination of the ODH Classification
of these areas. |
