Due to Fermilab's heightened security status, positive identification is required to gain access to the site. At this time, this requires any guests to obtain and display a visitor's pass. Also honored are any valid Fermilab ID or Department of Energy issued badges. This would include badges issued by other Department of Energy Laboratories.
To obtain a visitor's pass, you must enter the site using the Pine Street/Kirk Road entrance only on the first day you arrive. From I-88 West, take the (Aurora) Farnsworth North exit. Continue approximately 2 miles (4 stop lights) to Pine Street (entrance to Fermilab). Turn Right and follow the road to the Lederman Science Center. The Security Guards will direct you.
Security will have a list of Review participants, which will speed up the process of obtaining your pass. You will be issued a pass for the duration of the Review.
With a valid ID Badge or Visitor's pass, you can access the Fermilab site from either the east (Batavia Road from Rte 59) or west (Pine Street from Farnsworth/Kirk Rd) entrances.
