Woods Tea Company
August 4, 2007 @ 8 p.m.
Tickets - $16 ($8 ages 18 and under)

"one of the hottest up and coming acts...sidestepping pretension and going for the grit, this New England group gives a lusty performance every time." - Folk Music Quarterly

Woods Tea Company weaves a musical trail through rousing sea chanties, lively folk music, spirited bluegrass, and haunting Celtic ballads – all tempered with a parched New England wit.

Inspired by Woody Guthrie and his strong connection with audience members, the band started out playing to small college audiences in Burlington, Vermont. After building a solid reputation in New England, Wood’s Tea Company starting touring on the concert circuit nationwide, presenting their unique sound throughout the U.S. Noted performances include New York’s Lincoln Center, the Chautauqua Institute and an appearance on National Public Radio (who labeled them “Vermont’s hardest working folk group”).

This band performs over a dozen instruments during the course of a concert, and has been lauded by Folk Music Quarterly who noted that WTC “…gives a lusty performance every time” and honored by the Irish heritage Foundation with an Outstanding Innovation Award.
